Lucky me - I am No. 100 - 100 books are offered here ...

I am reading English books frequently - that's why I'm fond of taking part at this competition. An uncle of mine used to say to my Mum after her 1 year stay in the French part of Switzerland: Keep reading French books to practice your French. I have had English at schook, I have been studying English, that is why try to read English books to practice my English. Since suspense stories are my favorite ones, I would love to take part in this project.

Do you want this in English or in German? I'm gonna stick to English:

The first impression is really interesting and good. The first person narrator, a cop is on her way through San Francisco. A colleague of hers gives her a call, asks her to come to Golden Gate Bridge. Two dead persons, first hint was a traffic accident. But as soon as the cops come to Golden Gate, as soon as they see the car and the victims, they see: belly bombs have torn these two young people apart. The car itself is fairly undamaged - if you take the bombs into consideration. Lindsay Boxer, the central character of the story, is sure: There has to be an act of terror. With respect to that, FBI takes over, but Lindsay wants to know what has happened and continues to investigate the case.

But the criminal case is just one half of the story: You get to know that Lindsay is married with a former FBI agent, that she has a six months odl daughter, that she has good friends such as the Medical Examiner Claire - who has called her take a look at the bomb struck victims, a lawyer and journalist.

The case itself appeals to me, it is a little bit different from lots of other criminal cases and it is unusual: Because the victims turn out to be two young people who seemingly haven't harmed anyone and who don't seem to be classical targets for terrorists. That's interesting. The personal sphere seems to look like cliches in some points. I'd like to know how the story continues.
